Food-contact compliance, stated as it stands
Straight answers on food-contact compliance for glass packaging: what the material itself guarantees, what documentation ships with orders, and how test reports are arranged.
Is glass food-safe by material?
Glass is an inert food-contact material: it does not leach plasticisers or BPA because neither exists in its composition, and it does not interact with acidic fills such as jam, pickles or citrus. Soda-lime and borosilicate glass are the two families used across the catalog.
Which food-contact certificates does GlassPacker hold?
We do not advertise a standing certificate portfolio. Where a destination market or a retailer requires documented food-contact compliance, third-party test reports are arranged on customer request against the applicable requirement, and the report is issued for the specification you order.
What documentation ships with an order?
The commercial invoice, the packing list with carton and pallet figures, HS code 7010 on the customs entry and the export documents required per destination. The same packing figures quoted up front reappear on the handover documents, so the file stays internally consistent.
How do EU and US food-contact rules apply?
Destination-market rules govern: the EU framework regulation for food-contact materials and US food-contact provisions each set their own requirements, and your broker or quality team confirms the current wording for your market. Our role is to supply the material data and test reports those checks need.
